Tuesday, September 30, 2025 - Country music icon Dolly Parton has postponed a string of sold-out Las Vegas concerts, citing health concerns but insisting she is not stepping away from her career.
In a message to fans, the 79-year-old singer-songwriter said
doctors had advised her to undergo “a few procedures.” While she did not share
details, she reassured supporters with her trademark wit: “It must be time for
my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic
surgeon!”
The “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You” star explained
that the health setback meant she would be unable to rehearse and deliver the
kind of show audiences expect. Originally scheduled for six nights at Caesars
Palace in December, the concerts will now be held in September 2026.
Parton said she would continue working on projects in
Nashville during her recovery, telling fans she just needed “a little time to
get show ready, as they say.”
She also underlined that retirement is not in her plans:
“Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything
about stopping yet.”
Parton rose to stardom in the 1970s with songs such as “Coat
of Many Colors” and went on to record chart-topping hits including “9 to 5” and
“I Will Always Love You,” later made famous worldwide by Whitney Houston.
