JADEVEON CLOWNEY calls his arrest a misunderstanding

Sunday, September 21, 2025 -Dallas Cowboys defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was arrested on September 12, 2025, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, on misdemeanor charges of trespassing and failure to identify.

The incident occurred when Clowney attempted to park in a private lot near a high school football game. According to police, he was informed parking was not permitted but continued to argue with officers and initially refused to provide identification.

Clowney described the situation as a “big misunderstanding” and expressed frustration over how the encounter escalated. He emphasized that such incidents are not uncommon in his hometown.

Despite the arrest, Clowney signed a one-year contract with the Cowboys on September 15, 2025. Team officials confirmed that the legal matter will not affect his playing status. He is expected to contribute to the Cowboys’ defense, especially following the trade of linebacker Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers.
