Congress declares National Day of remembrance for CHARLIE KIRK

Saturday, September 20, 2025 -Congress has approved a resolution designating October 14, 2025, as the National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk. The date marks Kirk’s birthday and is intended to honor his legacy in civic engagement and political activism.

The measure passed unanimously in the Senate and with broad support in the House, though some lawmakers voiced concerns about honoring a figure whose public statements were often divisive. The resolution encourages schools, civic groups, and communities to observe the day with programs and ceremonies.

Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot on September 10 during a campus speaking event. A memorial service is planned in Glendale, Arizona, where political leaders, supporters, and colleagues are expected to attend.
