Wednesday, July 23, 2025 - Recently uncovered photos and archived footage have revealed new details about President Donald Trump’s past association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Photos from December 1993 confirm, for the first time, that
Epstein attended Trump’s wedding to Marla Maples at the Plaza Hotel in New
York. Until now, Epstein’s presence at the ceremony was not publicly known.
Additional footage from a 1999 Victoria’s Secret fashion
event in New York shows Trump and Epstein conversing and laughing together. The
material, uncovered by CNN’s KFile during a review of archival videos from the
1990s and 2000s, includes at least one video where the two appear side by side.
These materials predate Epstein’s known legal troubles and
come amid renewed scrutiny of Trump’s past interactions with him. The Justice
Department’s recent decision not to release long-promised files related to
Epstein has sparked outrage among some in Trump’s political base, who
anticipated revelations about Epstein’s alleged co-conspirators.
When contacted by CNN, Trump responded dismissively about
the wedding photos, saying “You’ve got to be kidding me,” before labeling CNN
“fake news” and ending the call.
In a statement, White House Communications Director Steven
Cheung said the materials were “out-of-context frame grabs of widely attended
events” and accused the media of attempting to imply something sinister. Cheung
added, “The President kicked [Epstein] out of his club for being a creep. This
is another fake news attack pushed by Democrats and liberal media.”
Trump and Epstein’s relationship reportedly began in the
1980s, with both frequently seen at social events in Palm Beach and New York.
Law enforcement has never accused Trump of wrongdoing in connection to Epstein.
According to reports, the two had a falling-out in the mid-2000s, allegedly
over a real estate dispute in Palm Beach.
In 1992, NBC aired footage of a party showing Trump and
Epstein socializing. A year later, society photographer Dafydd Jones captured
them together again at the opening of the Harley Davidson Cafe in New York. One
image shows Trump posing with his children, Eric and Ivanka, while Epstein
stands nearby.
Jones, who was also assigned to photograph Trump’s wedding that December, confirmed he took a photo of Epstein entering the Plaza Hotel. He told CNN, “I wish now I took more of him with Trump.” Another image from the LIFE photo archive shows Epstein in the background alongside Howard Stern and Robin Leach.
CNN also uncovered Getty Images photos of Trump and Epstein at a 1997 Victoria’s Secret Angels party in New York, two years before the 1999 footage. Epstein’s ties to the brand’s founder, billionaire Leslie Wexner, are well-documented. Epstein managed Wexner’s finances from 1987 to around 2007, though Wexner later claimed he was unaware of Epstein’s alleged crimes.
In a 2002 profile in New York Magazine, Trump described
Epstein as “a terrific guy” and noted, “It is even said that he likes beautiful
women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”
Flight logs also show Trump flew on Epstein’s private jets at least seven times between Palm Beach and New York. In his 2004 book Trump: How To Get Rich, Trump wrote about a man he referred to as “the mysterious Jeffrey,” adding, “As mysterious as Jeffrey is, he’s one of the few people I know who can get by on just a first name.”
In 2000, The Palm Beach Post published photos of Trump,
Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, and Prince Andrew at a charity event at
Mar-a-Lago. Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex
trafficking.
Last week, The Wall Street Journal reported on a
birthday card allegedly sent from Trump for Epstein’s 50th birthday in 2003.
The note, which included a sketch of a naked woman, concluded: “Happy Birthday
— and may every day be another wonderful secret.” Trump has denied writing the
note or creating the drawing and has filed a libel suit against the newspaper
in federal court.
The Department of Justice has now reached out to Maxwell’s
legal team amid pressure over its handling of Epstein-related files. Maxwell’s
attorney, David Oscar Markus, told CNN, “Ghislaine will always testify
truthfully. We are grateful to President Trump for his commitment to uncovering
the truth in this case.”
A federal judge overseeing Maxwell’s case has set a deadline
for the DOJ to provide grand jury materials to determine whether transcripts
related to Epstein should be unsealed.
