Friday, May 12, 2023 – Azimio one Kenya Alliance party leader, Raila Odinga, has said he is aware that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is planning on how to assassinate him.
Speaking in Murang’a County on Friday when he attended the burial of former Murang’a county governor Mwangi wa Iria’s mother-in-law, Raila, who is also the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, said Gachagua has been trying to bring him down but vowed to fight for democracy and liberation of the country.
Raila further said late former President Daniel Moi tried to silence him, but he didn’t succeed and wondered how a ‘small boy’ like Gachagua could succeed in killing him.
Last month Raila accused Gachagua of trying to assassinate him when he led mass protests in Pipeline Estate Nairobi.
The former premier said the vehicle he was travelling in was shot eight times by police officers who were under the instruction of Gachagua to assassinate him.
