Saturday, February 19, 2022 – ODM leader Raila Odinga has disclosed that he had to shorten his India and Dubai trips to attend NARC’s National Delegates Conference (NDC) at the Bomas of Kenya.
According to Raila, he had been invited by NARC’s party leader Governor Charity Ngilu and there was no way he could miss the event even though his daughter, Rosemary Odinga’s life, was on the line.
“I was in India, then Dubai but I had to shorten my visit because I couldn’t miss this NDC,’ the former premier said.
Speaking at NARC’s NDC held at Bomas, Raila took a trip down memory lane to share the rich history between him and Governor Ngilu.
“Charity tumekuwa naye, alikuwa mama wa kwanza kusimama na sisi wakati wa upinzani… Nimetembea na yeye kila mahali duniani na anajulikana kama mama shupavu na ambaya hana uoga wowote,” he said.
The former prime minister jetted back in the country on Friday after trips to India, where he had gone to see the progress of his ailing daughter before flying to Dubai to meet with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
At the same time, NARC officially endorsed Raila for president as Ngilu spoke very highly of him, rallying troops behind his presidency.
“If President Uhuru Kenyatta has looked at the person he’s worked with for the last 9 years and seen that leaving Kenya in his hands, Kenya will be doomed… he’s a conman,” Ngilu stated.
“We feel our dreams, hopes and resources will be safe in Baba’s hands.
“As a woman leader and a mother I know Kenya will be safe in Baba’s hands. Baba will steer this country to greater heights,” she added.
