Friday, February 25, 2022 – Kirinyaga County gubernatorial aspirant, Purity Ngirici, has dismissed claims that she has endorsed former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s presidential bid in August.
On Wednesday, when President Uhuru Kenyatta held a meeting at Sagana State Lodge in Nyeri County, Ngirici was among the leaders who attended the function where the Head of State endorsed Raila Odinga as his successor when he retires in August.
Speaking in Kirinyaga County on Friday, Ngirici said she is still an independent candidate and she has not joined Raila Odinga and his Azimio La Umoja bandwagon.
“Mimi Nikimake decision huwa sirundi Nyuma. Roho yangu bado iko kule tu kwa independent candidate. I want to serve the people of Kirinyaga,” Ngirici stated.
“I have not endorsed the Azimio La Umoja Movement and if I support the movement I will announce it in public. I advise my political competitors to stop peddling lies that I support Raila,” Ngirici said.
