Wednesday, February 16, 2022 – National Youth Service (NYS) graft suspect, Anne Ngirita, has revealed why she left Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party.
On Tuesday, Ngirita was at Nakuru Jubilee Party headquarters where she announced that she had dumped the ‘wheelbarrow party’ for the ruling party.
In an interview with one of the local dailies, Ngirita, who is accused of embezzling more than Sh 200 million from NYS, explained that she originally joined UDA because of “peer pressure” but is now ready to join the Azimio La Umoja movement, a political coalition formed by Uhuru and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, Raila Odinga.
Ngirita, who is vying for Nakuru County Woman Representative position, further said she came back to Jubilee after Raila Odinga and President Uhuru urged people who had left their respective parties to go back.
“Nilikua kwa chama ya UDA but nilitoka mimi mwenyewe.
“Nilitoka kwa sababu Baba (Raila) and Uhuru walisema turudi nyumbani nikaona nilikua nimepotea.
“Ilikua out of peer pressure,” she said.
