Thursday, February 17, 2021 – Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, has dismissed an opinion poll conducted by Radio Africa Group that showed that Deputy President William Ruto is the man to beat during the August 9th presidential election.
In the poll, 47.1 percent of respondents said they would vote for Ruto compared to 35.1 percent who said they will support Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party supremo Raila Odinga.
The poll also showed that Raila Odinga is substantially gaining ground in the Mt Kenya region.
Reacting to the poll, Mudavadi claimed the opinion poll was one of the many ways by the deep state to rig the August 9th poll.
“They say that (Raila) votes have increased here in Mt Kenya,”
“Njama ya kuiba kura inaanza namna hiyo, hiyo porojo waachane nayo (plans to steal votes starts that way, let them stop that propaganda),” Mudavadi told Kirinyaga County residents on Thursday.
