Yemen: 15,000 people arrive in NRC-supported displacement sites

Wednesday, September 30, 2026 - Around 15,000 people have arrived at displacement sites supported by the Norwegian Refugee Council in Yemen, adding to the growing humanitarian pressure facing communities already struggling with insecurity and limited access to basic services.

The new arrivals are seeking safety and shelter as conflict and instability continue to force families from their homes.

The influx is putting additional strain on already stretched displacement sites, where families need urgent access to food, clean water, shelter, healthcare and protection.

Humanitarian organisations are working to assist the newly displaced, but continued arrivals are increasing demand for resources and essential services in areas where support remains limited.

The situation highlights the urgent humanitarian needs facing displaced Yemenis. With thousands more people now dependent on assistance, aid agencies are calling for sustained support to provide immediate relief and improve living conditions for families who have been forced to flee their homes.
