Tuesday, September 29, 2026 - Kurdish nurse Fouad Ghaderi, 27, has been transferred to Dizel Abad Prison in Kermanshah after being arrested by Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence on September 21, according to Kurdish human rights organizations.
Reports say Ghaderi was detained while travelling between Ravansar and Kamyaran and was later subjected to severe physical and psychological abuse during interrogation. One report says he suffered multiple broken ribs.
Ghaderi, who is from Javanrud and works as a nurse in Sanandaj, was reportedly held at a Ministry of Intelligence detention facility in Javanrud before being transferred to prison.
His family home was also searched following his arrest, with personal belongings including his computer reportedly confiscated. Human rights groups say the authorities have not publicly disclosed the reason for his arrest or the charges against him.
The reports say Ghaderi remains without access to a lawyer, family visits or necessary medical treatment despite the injuries allegedly sustained during detention. His case is drawing attention from Kurdish rights organizations, which are calling for information about his condition and legal status.
The allegations of torture have not been independently verified, and Iranian authorities have not publicly provided an explanation for his detention or responded to the claims.
