Sunday, September 20, 2026 - Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour is facing a fresh ticket-sales setback as the fallout from Macklemore’s removal continues to spread.
Resale prices for Sheeran’s Philadelphia concert reportedly dropped sharply in the days before the show, with the cheapest tickets falling from around $100 to $51, while ticket availability increased by 54%, according to TickPick data cited by Forbes. Other reporting also found some resale tickets being offered below face value.
The sales turbulence follows a major shake-up of the tour after Macklemore was removed from the U.S. dates following his onstage “Free Palestine” remarks.
Several supporting acts subsequently withdrew, including Finneas, Lukas Graham and Aaron Rowe, while Sheeran has maintained that the decision to remove Macklemore was made by the tour promoter after venues objected to his appearance. The controversy has since triggered protests and boycott calls around Sheeran’s shows.
Sheeran returned to the stage in Philadelphia amid the mounting pressure and addressed the controversy directly, telling fans that the situation had left him unsure whether the tour would continue.
He also described the situation in Gaza as “catastrophic and unjustifiable” and raised concerns about venues pre-approving what artists can say during performances. With more U.S. dates still ahead, the combination of falling resale prices, withdrawn support acts and continuing protests has placed the tour under an intense spotlight at a critical moment.
