Sunday, August 16, 2026 -Selena Gomez is pushing back hard against a $1.2 million lawsuit tied to her mental health startup, Wondermind, with her lawyer calling the fraud allegations “completely meritless.”
Investors filed the lawsuit in Delaware federal court on August 13, accusing Gomez, her mother Mandy Teefey and former business partner Daniella Pierson of misleading them about the company’s leadership, finances and prospects before they invested nearly $1.2 million.
Gomez’s attorney, Mathew S. Rosengart, has vowed to fight the claims and said his team plans to file a motion seeking their dismissal.
The investors allege they were given assurances about Gomez’s involvement and the startup’s planned development, including an app and other business initiatives that they say never materialized. The lawsuit also accuses the company of concealing serious operational and financial problems as Wondermind struggled.
The case now puts Gomez’s business venture under immediate legal scrutiny, although the allegations have not been proven in court and Gomez has denied wrongdoing through her attorney.
Teefey has also disputed the accusations, while Pierson has denied the claims against her. With Gomez’s legal team preparing its response, the next major development will be whether the court agrees to dismiss the investors’ allegations or allows the case to move forward.
