Israeli drone strike kills 2 Palestinians in displacement tent in central Gaza

Wednesday, August 25, 2026 - Two Palestinians were killed and several others injured early Monday when an Israeli drone struck a displacement tent near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, according to medical sources cited by Anadolu Agency. The victims were identified as Mohammed Nasser Abu Assad and Ibrahim Nasser Abu Assad.

The strike comes as attacks continue across Gaza despite the ceasefire that began in October 2025. The location of the attack is particularly alarming because the tent was sheltering Palestinians who had already been displaced from their homes, highlighting the continuing risks faced by civilians seeking refuge in central Gaza.

The latest deaths are likely to intensify pressure for stronger enforcement of the ceasefire and greater protection for displaced civilians. With violence continuing and reports of further casualties emerging, attention is again turning to whether the fragile truce can prevent further loss of life and provide meaningful security for Gaza's displaced population.
