Tuesday, August 11, 2026 - Veteran actor Jon Cypher, best known for playing Police Chief Fletcher Daniels on Hill Street Blues, has died at the age of 94.
Cypher died on August 3, 2026, at his home in Central Point, Oregon, with his wife of 40 years, Carol Rosin, by his side. His family confirmed the death, while no cause of death has been disclosed.
Cypher remained a familiar face to television audiences through roles in Major Dad, Dynasty, Knots Landing, Law & Order, JAG and Walker, Texas Ranger.
