HENRY WINKLER reveals he has ‘no idea’ whether Happy Days co-star RON HOWARD thinks about their on-screen reunion

Monday, August 17, 2026 - Henry Winkler has opened the door to another collaboration with his longtime Happy Days co-star Ron Howard, but he admits he does not know whether Howard feels the same way.

Speaking at the Television Academy’s Televerse Festival in Los Angeles on August 15, 2026, the 80-year-old actor said the possibility of working together again still crosses his mind. When asked whether Howard thinks about another reunion, Winkler gave a candid answer: “I have no idea if he does.”

The comments are already giving fans a reason to hope. Winkler and Howard became one of television’s most recognizable pairings as Fonzie and Richie Cunningham, and their professional relationship continued after Howard left Happy Days to focus on directing.

They reunited for the 1982 film Night Shift, with Winkler joking that after making that movie together, “they can’t do anything better.” He also praised the lasting affection audiences continue to show for the film.

For fans, the biggest takeaway is that Winkler appears genuinely open to sharing the screen with Howard again. The pair most recently demonstrated their enduring chemistry during the Happy Days reunion at the 2024 Emmys, where Winkler said their connection returned “like a thunderbolt.”

Now, with Winkler openly acknowledging that another project still appeals to him, attention will inevitably turn to Howard—and whether he is ready to make another reunion happen.
