Pop star ROBBIE WILLIAMS jokes about bizarre TV moment

Tuesday July 21, 2026- Robbie Williams has joked about the bizarre live TV moment that sparked widespread online speculation during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.

After performing the official World Cup anthem "Desire" with Nicole Scherzinger and Laura Pausini, Williams appeared on Germany's MagentaTV for a post-match interview.

During the broadcast, a small white object fell from his mouth onto his microphone. As he tried to remove it, he accidentally stuck it to his forehead, and the clip quickly went viral.

Some viewers speculated online that the object was an illicit substance. Williams responded with humor on Instagram, saying: "I'd just like to apologise for the object that fell onto the microphone yesterday. I was deeply unprofessional... But it's OK, because I have several more."

He then revealed that the object was simply a Nicorette mint, showing more mints in his mouth to make light of the rumors.

The joke resonated with fans, particularly because Williams has been open for years about his past struggles with addiction and his long-term sobriety. Representatives also confirmed the object was a nicotine mint, putting the speculation to rest.
