Tuesday July 21, 2026- Olivia Wilde has reflected on the public reaction to the end of her relationship with Harry Styles, saying the intense scrutiny surrounding the romance and breakup often overshadowed her work.
In a recent interview, Wilde said she has learned to tune out much of the online commentary and no longer lets public opinion define her.
She acknowledged that the attention around her personal life was difficult but said it also reinforced the importance of focusing on her family and career.
Wilde and Styles began dating in 2021 after meeting on the set of the film Don't Worry Darling, which Wilde directed and Styles starred in.
Their relationship attracted significant media attention before reports emerged in late 2022 that they had decided to take a break amid busy work schedules. Neither has publicly characterized the split as acrimonious.
Speaking about the criticism she faced, Wilde said she has come to accept that she cannot control public narratives and prefers to concentrate on the people and projects that matter most to her. She also emphasized that she does not regret living her life openly, despite the challenges that come with being in the public eye.
