Thursday July 30, 2026- Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has confirmed that authorities are conducting a full investigation into the drone attack that struck two natural gas vessels at Damietta Port, triggering a major fire.
Preliminary findings indicate that a drone caused the incident, though no group has claimed responsibility. Emergency crews contained the blaze after hours of firefighting, and officials reported no injuries or fatalities.
Madbouly said the government acted swiftly to protect critical energy infrastructure and ensure that the country's natural gas and electricity supplies remain stable.
