Monday July 27, 2026- A sudden flash flood at a popular tourist destination in northwestern China has left at least 10 people dead and nearly two dozen others injured, according to local authorities. 

The disaster struck quickly, catching visitors off guard as heavy rainfall triggered dangerous water surges through the area.

Rescue teams have been deployed to search for victims, assist injured tourists, and assess the damage caused by the flooding. 

Officials are investigating the incident while reviewing safety measures at tourist locations vulnerable to extreme weather events, especially during periods of intense rainfall.

The tragedy highlights growing concerns over flash flood risks in mountainous and scenic areas, where unpredictable weather can quickly turn into life-threatening emergencies.
