Tuesday, May 12, 2026- Authorities in Cambridge are investigating a violent shooting incident in which a gunman allegedly opened fire at random, striking two drivers before being shot and subdued by a responding state trooper and an armed civilian.
Police say the chaos unfolded quickly, turning a routine roadway into an active emergency scene within minutes.
According to early reports, the suspect began firing without warning, targeting passing vehicles and causing immediate panic among motorists.
Two drivers sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to nearby hospitals, where they are receiving treatment. Officials have not yet released their conditions, but both are believed to have survived the initial attack.
