Thursday, May 14, 2026- Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed he made a secret visit to the United Arab Emirates during the height of the Iran war, in what would mark a significant but highly contested diplomatic engagement between two key regional actors.
According to Netanyahu’s office, the meeting took place with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and was framed as a “historic breakthrough” in relations during a period of intense regional conflict.
The UAE, however, has firmly denied the claim, stating that its relations with Israel are conducted transparently under publicly declared agreements and not through undisclosed meetings or covert arrangements.
Emirati officials dismissed reports of a secret visit as unfounded, insisting that any official diplomatic contact would be publicly acknowledged. This direct contradiction has fueled confusion and intensified scrutiny over what actually occurred behind the scenes during the conflict.
