U.S. military strikes a boat in the Caribbean, killing 3

Tuesday, April 21, 2026-The U.S. military carried out a strike on a vessel in the Caribbean Sea, killing three people, according to officials.

The operation was confirmed by the U.S. Southern Command, which said the boat was suspected of being involved in drug trafficking activities along known smuggling routes. No U.S. personnel were injured during the strike.

The incident is part of an ongoing campaign targeting what the U.S. government describes as “narco-terrorist” operations across the Caribbean and eastern Pacific.

Officials said intelligence indicated the vessel was actively engaged in trafficking, though specific details about those killed or the evidence supporting the claim were not publicly disclosed.

The broader operation has drawn increasing scrutiny, with critics questioning both the lack of transparency and the legality of using military force against suspected smugglers.

Despite the controversy, U.S. authorities maintain that the strikes are necessary to disrupt drug flows and protect national security, as similar operations continue across the region.
