Israel to destroy 'all houses' near Lebanon border, defence minister says

Wednesday, April 1, 2026-Israel’s Defence Minister announced that the military plans to destroy all houses near the Lebanon border, signaling a sharp escalation in response to cross-border attacks.

The measure, described as necessary for national security, is expected to affect multiple villages in the area, with authorities emphasizing that the operation aims to prevent future infiltrations by militant groups.

Officials stated that residents will be evacuated before demolition begins, but the move has raised concerns about large-scale displacement and the humanitarian impact on local communities.

Analysts warn that such actions could further inflame tensions along the northern frontier and complicate regional stability.

The announcement comes amid ongoing hostilities between Israel and armed groups in southern Lebanon.

Military sources indicated that the operation is part of a broader campaign to secure the border, but international observers are calling for restraint to avoid civilian casualties and escalation into a wider conflict.
