BIDEN DOJ 'weaponized' federal law to prosecute pro-lifers

Wednesday, April 15, 2026-Allegations have intensified from Republican lawmakers and conservative advocacy groups that the United States Department of Justice under the Biden administration “weaponized” federal law to target anti-abortion activists and pro-life protesters.

Critics argue that federal statutes have been applied unevenly in cases involving clinic protests and demonstrations.

The controversy centers on prosecutions under laws such as the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, which is designed to protect access to reproductive health facilities.

Supporters of the prosecutions say the law is being enforced as written in response to alleged blockades, intimidation, or interference with clinic operations. Opponents, however, argue that enforcement has been overly aggressive and politically motivated.

The debate has further deepened partisan divisions over abortion policy and federal law enforcement priorities. While conservative groups call for investigations into DOJ decision-making, administration officials maintain that all cases are pursued based on conduct and evidence rather than ideology.

The issue is expected to remain a flashpoint in ongoing political and legal battles over reproductive rights and protest activity.
