Latest snow totals as winter storm slams Philadelphia region

Tuesday, February 24, 2026- A powerful nor’easter has pummeled the Philadelphia region with heavy snow, forcing residents and officials to confront another major winter disruption. Across the city and its surrounding suburbs, snowfall has piled up dramatically, with many neighborhoods buried under more than a foot of snow.

Northeast Philadelphia reported around 16 inches, while other parts of the city — including Fox Chase and Roxborough — saw between 14 and 15 inches. Even beyond city limits, totals in parts of New Jersey and Delaware topped 20 inches, with places like Langhorne and Mount Holly reporting some of the highest accumulations in the region.

The storm’s impact has been widespread and disruptive. Snow emergency declarations remain in effect in multiple communities as crews work around the clock to clear roads and restore order.

Transit services, including SEPTA and NJ Transit, have suspended many routes, and travel advisories urge drivers to stay off the roads as drifting snow and strong winds create hazardous conditions. With gusts still whipping through the Delaware Valley, snow drifts, icy surfaces, and limited visibility continue to complicate cleanup efforts and daily routines.

Officials are warning residents that the struggle is far from over. Even as heavy snowfall tapers, ongoing wind gusts are expected to cause additional drifting and make conditions treacherous for vehicles and pedestrians alike. Emergency services advise people to postpone non‑essential travel and check for updates as plows continue clearing major arteries.

With widespread service interruptions and stubborn snow piles still blocking streets and walkways, the Philadelphia region is bracing for a slow, demanding recovery in the wake of this fierce storm.
