Justice Department withheld and removed some EPSTEIN files related to TRUMP

Wednesday, February 25, 2026- The U.S. Department of Justice is facing serious scrutiny after reports revealed that it withheld and even removed documents from the public Jeffrey Epstein files that reference President Donald Trump. Dozens of pages, including FBI interviews and notes, reportedly were not released or were pulled from the public archive. Among the materials are allegations that Trump sexually abused a minor decades ago, raising questions about transparency and accountability.

Lawmakers, particularly Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, have condemned the DOJ’s actions, arguing they may violate both congressional subpoenas and the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Officials claim some files were removed temporarily to protect victims’ privacy or because they were duplicates, but critics say the omissions suggest political bias or selective disclosure. The controversy has already prompted calls for a full congressional investigation.

The DOJ and White House deny any wrongdoing, insisting all required documents have been produced and that no files were hidden for political reasons. Trump has denied all allegations and maintains he has been exonerated in Epstein-related matters. With public scrutiny intensifying, the handling of these files has become a focal point in debates over government transparency, legal compliance, and accountability for powerful figures.
