EPSTEIN files end business, political careers across globe

Tuesday, February  17, 2026-The recent release of the Epstein files — a massive trove of documents made public under the Epstein Files Transparency Act — has sent shockwaves through the world’s elite, ending or severely damaging business and political careers across multiple continents.

The unsealed records, which span over 3 million pages of emails, flight logs, photos, and internal communications, have revealed long-buried ties between the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and influential figures in government, finance, diplomacy, and entertainment. In the United States, several high-profile executives and legal leaders have stepped down from their positions after their associations with Epstein were exposed, triggering resignations and internal upheaval at major institutions.

In Europe and beyond, the fallout has been even more dramatic, with politicians, diplomats, and royals losing jobs, titles, and public trust. Senior leaders such as former British ambassador and Labour Party figure Peter Mandelson have resigned amid criminal inquiries tied to their reported interactions with Epstein, while former officials in France and Norway have faced pressure to step aside or are under investigation for their connections.

In some cases, institutions and financial entities have paused partnerships or called for internal reviews to distance themselves from individuals named in the files. The controversy has touched not only political elites but also heads of cultural organizations and business empires, illustrating how deeply Epstein’s network reached into power structures worldwide.

Despite the global impact, responses vary by region: European leaders appear more willing to accept accountability with resignations and investigations, while in the United States some prominent names have seen limited repercussions beyond job exits or public scrutiny.

The documents’ release continues to generate political turmoil as watchdog groups and lawmakers call for further transparency and potential legal action against those whose conduct and judgment are called into question. The ongoing ripple effects suggest that Epstein’s posthumous influence could reshape public expectations around elite accountability and ethical standards in both business and government for years to come.
