Monday, January 5, 2026- An Ohio couple, Spencer and Monique Tepe, were tragically found shot to death in their Columbus home on December 30, in a crime that has shocked their community. The couple, married in 2021 and approaching their five‑year anniversary, were discovered after a concerned co‑worker called for a welfare check when Spencer failed to show up for work.
Their bodies were located inside the same house where they had exchanged vows, while their two young children were inside but unharmed. Authorities are treating the incident as a double homicide and are actively investigating to find the responsible party.
Police have reported no obvious signs of forced entry, and no weapons were found at the scene, leaving investigators questioning how the attacker gained access or whether the couple knew their killer. Spencer, a 37‑year‑old dentist, suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and Monique, 39, was shot at least once in the chest.
Family, friends, and co‑workers describe the couple as loving parents and devoted partners, whose sudden and violent deaths have left the community in shock. The Columbus Police Homicide Unit is urging the public to come forward with any information that could help identify a suspect or clarify the motive.
As investigators continue searching for leads, a growing memorial of roses and sunflowers has appeared outside the couple’s Weinland Park home, serving as a somber reminder of the lives lost.
Family members have expressed deep grief and determination to see justice served, while neighbors and colleagues struggle to come to terms with such a rare and senseless tragedy. With no suspect in custody and the motive still unclear, authorities stress the importance of community cooperation to help piece together the events that led to this devastating loss.
