NewJeans member DANIELLE sued for millions after bitter feud with K-pop record label

Friday, January 2, 2026 -The explosive feud between K-pop powerhouse NewJeans and their label, ADOR — a subsidiary of HYBE — has taken a dramatic turn as member Danielle Marsh is now facing a multi-million-dollar lawsuit following her contract’s termination.

ADOR has filed a civil suit seeking roughly ₩43.1 billion (about $30 million) in damages against Danielle, one of her family members, and the group’s former producer, accusing them of actions that caused major delays and disruptions to planned group activities. The legal action marks a critical escalation in a dispute that has already shaken one of K-pop’s most successful groups.

The lawsuit follows a prolonged and highly publicized conflict over NewJeans’ attempt to break away from ADOR and pursue independent activities, a move that was ultimately rejected by a Seoul court.

While some members have since returned to the label, Danielle’s contract was officially terminated, with ADOR citing an irreparable breakdown in trust and alleged violations of contractual obligations. The decision has placed Danielle’s future career in uncertainty and intensified scrutiny on how artist contracts are enforced in the industry.

Industry observers say the case could have far-reaching consequences beyond a single artist, potentially reshaping how power, control, and accountability are handled in K-pop contracts.

Fan reaction has been swift and divided, with supporters rallying behind Danielle while others worry about the long-term impact on NewJeans as a group. As the legal battle unfolds, the outcome is expected to influence future negotiations between artists and agencies across the global K-pop landscape.
