Friday, January 9, 2026- A 56-year-old Minnesota woman, Arlene Lillis, has died following a suspected shark attack at Dorsch Beach on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, an incident that has shocked tourists and local residents.
Authorities say emergency responders were called to the beach Thursday afternoon after reports that a swimmer had been bitten by a shark. When officials arrived, they confirmed the woman had lost an arm in the attack and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
