Friday, January 9, 2026 - Actor Dax Shepard shared that he offered to pay his daughter Delta Shepard, 11, to get her eggs frozen when she turns 18.
Shepard, who is married to actress Kristen Bell said he
made the offer because his daughter wants to have a child someday and he wants
to be supportive.
“She said she wants to have a baby,” Dax, 51, explained
during the Jan. 5 episode of his Armchair
Expert podcast.
“And I said, ‘When do you think you’ll have your first
child? When you turn 18?’ I want to be supportive. I won’t plant any seeds that
I’d be judgmental. And she said, ‘Wait, no. 18? What do you think?’ And I said,
‘My guess is between 35 and 45 is when I think you’ll have kids.’”
He added, “I said, ‘If you want to, we’ll freeze your eggs
when you’re 18. I’ll pay for you to get your eggs frozen so you don’t have to
think about it.’”
While his cohost Monica Padman, 38, thought the gesture
was “lovely,” Dax, who is also dad to daughter Lincoln, 12, noted that
Delta wasn’t a fan of his estimated age range.
“She was like, ‘No, that’s crazy! That’s too old,’” Dax
recalled of her reaction. “Again, she’s 11, so that seems like 80 [to her].
She’s thinking mid-20s.”
This isn’t the first time Dax and Kristen’s kids have shown
interest in learning about motherhood.
In fact, the Frozen star admitted they tried
to explain to them how babies are made.
“One kid asked us and Dax started explaining the sperm meets
the ovum,” Kristen, 45, told E! News in June 2024, “and truly, within
30 seconds, she had walked outside because she was so bored. So it’s worked in
our favor, and we’re going to keep it up as long as we can.
