UK spy chief says PUTIN is dragging out peace talks and wants to subjugate Ukraine

Tuesday, December 16, 2025 -The UK’s chief intelligence officer has warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin is deliberately prolonging peace negotiations to weaken Ukraine and consolidate control over key territories.

Officials stress that this strategy is designed not for compromise but to assert dominance, signaling a long-term threat to Ukrainian sovereignty. The warning comes as global leaders debate how to balance diplomatic engagement with continued support for Ukraine’s defense.

Intelligence assessments indicate that Russia is using delays to exploit internal and external pressures on Kyiv, aiming to create divisions among Western allies. Analysts emphasize that this tactic increases the urgency for unified international action, including military aid, sanctions, and strategic support.

The UK spy chief’s statement underscores the high stakes of the conflict and the need for vigilance in countering covert and overt attempts at territorial subjugation.

For Ukraine and its supporters, the message is clear: negotiations cannot be allowed to stall indefinitely while aggressive objectives are pursued. Governments and organizations backing Ukraine are likely to intensify diplomatic and logistical coordination to ensure that peace talks do not come at the cost of national sovereignty or long-term stability.

The situation highlights the delicate balance between diplomacy and defense in ongoing international efforts.
