Second actor accuses TYLER PERRY of sexual assault in new lawsuit

Sunday, December 28, 2025 -Hollywood powerhouse Tyler Perry is facing a second high‑profile sexual assault lawsuit, with actor Mario Rodriguez filing a complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court alleging repeated unwanted advances and sexual misconduct spanning several years.

Rodriguez, who appeared in the 2016 film Boo! A Madea Halloween, claims that Perry leveraged his influence in the industry to initiate inappropriate contact—including alleged incidents at Perry’s Los Angeles home—and is now seeking at least $77 million in damages for sexual assault, sexual battery, and emotional distress.

According to the lawsuit, Rodriguez was initially approached through an industry contact and encouraged to audition for Perry’s film, only to later allege that Perry made physical advances under the pretense of career mentorship.

The complaint details multiple encounters from 2015 through 2019 in which Rodriguez says Perry crossed professional boundaries, continued to contact him after their working relationship ended, and at times gave him cash following alleged misconduct. The suit also names Lionsgate, the distributor of the film, accusing the studio of ignoring Perry’s alleged behavior.

This new lawsuit follows an earlier civil case filed this year by actor Derek Dixon, who accused Perry of sexual harassment and assault during his work on the television series The Oval, with that case seeking $260 million in damages. Perry’s legal team has dismissed both lawsuits, labeling them meritless and financially motivated, and Perry himself has denied all allegations.

The emergence of multiple claims against one of Hollywood’s most influential creators has intensified public scrutiny of power dynamics in the entertainment industry and opened urgent conversations about accountability and protection for industry workers.
