Search for MH370 to resume by end of December 2025

Thursday, December 4, 2025 -
The government of Malaysia has announced that the deep‑sea search for the missing Boeing 777, missing since March 8, 2014 while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, will resume on 30 December 2025.

The aircraft disappeared with 239 people on board, and despite being one of the largest search efforts in aviation history, no major wreckage has ever been found — only scattered debris over the years.

The renewed operation will be conducted by marine‑robotics firm Ocean Infinity under a “no‑find, no‑fee” contract: the company is to search a carefully selected 15,000‑square‑kilometre area in the southern Indian Ocean — identified as having the highest probability of locating the aircraft.

This new search follows a recent suspension due to seasonal weather, and represents the government’s renewed commitment to bring closure to the families of the victims.

Relatives of those on board, along with aviation experts, welcome this development as perhaps the last realistic chance to solve one of the greatest mysteries in modern aviation.

If successful, the operation could finally shed light on what happened to MH370 — and deliver long‑awaited answers about the fate of the plane and its occupants.
