SCARLETT JOHANSSON explains her ‘weird’ behavior on first date with COLIN JOST

Wednesday, December 3, 2025 -Scarlett Johansson recently opened up about a surprisingly awkward start to her relationship with comedian and writer Colin Jost — her nerves apparently took over during their first date in 2017. 

On a December 1, 2025 episode of Today with Jenna & Friends, Johansson admitted she had never really experienced a “traditional” date before, calling herself a “serial monogamist.”

The date started off fine at an Italian restaurant in New York’s East Village. But when Jost suggested grabbing drinks with friends afterward, Johansson says she panicked — and abruptly ended the evening. She rushed home to relieve her babysitter, leaving everyone confused. “I just felt so flustered,” she recalled.

Jost, for his part, admitted afterward he thought the date was basically over — “You were acting so weird,” he reportedly told her. Despite that rocky start, the two eventually connected, married in 2020, and now share a child — proving sometimes even a rough beginning doesn’t define a relationship’s outcome.
