Former U.S. Sen. BEN NIGHTHORSE CAMPBELL dies



Wednesday, December 31, 2025 -Former U.S. Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell has passed away. Campbell, who represented Colorado in the Senate from 1993 to 2005, was known for his work on Native American issues, health care, and bipartisan cooperation. 

He was the only Native American serving in the Senate during much of his tenure and played a key role in advocating for tribal rights and legislation benefiting Indigenous communities.
