Thursday, December 4, 2025 - Chelsea-bound striker Emanuel Emegha has been suspended by Ligue 1 side Strasbourg just months before he officially joins the Blues.
The Dutch striker is set to complete a move to Stamford
Bridge in the summer after a deal was pre-agreed in September.
Emegha will sign a seven-year contract at Chelsea after
the West Londoners swooped to sign him from BlueCo’s sister club.
But Strasbourg have ruthlessly decided that he will not be
involved in their game against Toulouse this weekend.
The French side, who are managed by former Premier League
defender Liam Rosenior, have axed him from their plans after issues behind the
scenes.
A club statement read: “Racing Club de Strasbourg
Alsace has decided to suspend Emmanuel Emegha for its next Ligue 1 match, this
Saturday December 6 in Toulouse.
“This decision was taken following the player’s recent
failure to respect the club’s values, expectations and rules.
“Racing reaffirms its commitment to the essential principles
of exemplary conduct and respect for the collective framework.
“Emmanuel remains an important member of our team, who has
always given his all for the club on the pitch. He will be reintegrated into
the squad after this match.
“No further comments will be made.”
Emegha has enjoyed a strong start to the season, scoring
seven goals across 11 matches for Strasbourg and winning his first
international caps for the Netherlands.
