Three injured in Westfield Valley Fair shopping mall shooting on Black Friday
Sunday, November 30, 2025 -A shooting at Westfield Valley Fair on Black Friday left three people wounded, sparking panic and chaos among holiday shoppers.
The gunfire erupted around 5:40 PM near the Macy’s store, sending hundreds of shoppers scrambling for cover inside stores and triggering a rapid evacuation of the mall.
Police confirmed that the victims — an adult man, an adult woman, and a 16‑year-old girl — were taken to hospital with non‑life-threatening injuries.
Authorities reported that the shooting appears to stem from a verbal altercation between the male victim and a suspect; the woman and teenager struck by gunfire were likely innocent bystanders.
Law enforcement described the incident as “isolated” and confirmed there was no ongoing active-shooter threat. Despite that, the scene underscored the fragility of public safety — especially during big shopping events like Black Friday.
As police launch a manhunt for the suspect, the episode serves as a sobering reminder: the festive rush can quickly turn into a night of fear when violence erupts without warning.
