‘Poker Face’ canceled — but RIAN JOHNSON isn’t ready to fold just yet

Saturday, November 15, 2025 -The hit mystery-of-the-week series Poker Face has officially been canceled, but creator Rian Johnson is signaling that the show’s story isn’t over. The news surprised fans and industry watchers, especially after the series maintained a steady audience and built a loyal following.

Streaming executives cited “strategic programming shifts,” but the decision has sparked immediate backlash online, with viewers calling for the show to be revived elsewhere.

What’s keeping hope alive is Johnson’s response. Rather than issuing a goodbye, he made it clear he’s already exploring ways to bring the show back, whether through a new streaming home, a limited revival, or a film continuation.

Cast members have echoed that optimism, hinting they’d return “in a heartbeat” if the opportunity arises. Behind the scenes, early conversations about rights and scheduling are reportedly underway, suggesting the creative team isn’t treating this as a closed door.

For fans, the cancellation is frustrating — but the momentum behind a revival is unusually strong. The series has maintained consistent social engagement, especially around lead character Charlie Cale’s weekly case-solving adventures, making it a valuable asset in a content landscape hungry for recognizable IP.

If Johnson can secure the right partnership, Poker Face may yet reappear with more episodes, proving that a passionate audience and a determined creator can keep a show alive even after the credits roll.
