Thursday, November 13, 2025 -Paris Jackson has revealed a deeply personal consequence of her past substance abuse: she has developed a perforated septum—a hole in the cartilage of the nose between the nostrils.
In a recent video on TikTok, she noted that she “has a really loud whistle when I breathe through my nose” and shone a light under her nostril to show the small hole. She described the condition bluntly: “That is from what you think it’s from … Don’t do drugs, kids,” acknowledging that while she isn’t dictating life paths, she personally would not recommend the path she took because it “ruined my life.”
Despite the physical damage, Jackson says she has no plans to undergo surgery to fix the perforated septum. The reason: she has been sober for nearly six years and is wary of the post‑surgery medications required. She explained: “You have to take pills when you do a surgery that is gnarly … I don’t want to f––k with that.”
The condition reportedly dates back to when she was about 20 years old, and she noted it creates challenges in her recording studio work. Yet she opts to live with it rather than risk compromising her recovery.
Her openness adds another dimension to her public journey of sobriety and self‑acceptance: Jackson not only acknowledges the visible physical effects of her past, but uses them as a cautionary message to others.
She says sharing the story is part of her “primary purpose to carry the message of recovery” — not to glorify addiction but to be honest about its lasting consequences.
