Families of hostages held by Hamas endorse DONALD TRUMP for Nobel Peace Prize

Tuesday, October 7, 2025 - The families of some of the hostages held by Hamas in Gaza have formally urged the Norwegian Nobel Committee to award the Nobel Peace Prize to Donald Trump, citing his work toward an ongoing peace plan.

In a letter sent to the committee, family members asserted that the president deserved the award for what they described as his unprecedented contributions to world peace. They specifically credited Trump’s determination to achieve peace for "making possible what many said was impossible."

The families stated that Trump deserved the prize because of his vow not to rest until every single hostage returned home and because, in their view, no other leader or organization "has contributed more to peace around the world" in the last year.

The letter explicitly mentions Trump’s peace plan, which is currently under negotiation, saying that thanks to it, "for the first time in months, we are hopeful that our nightmare will finally be over."

Trump himself has repeatedly stated that he deserves to receive the Peace Prize and has claimed to have ended seven wars during his time in office.

The call for the award comes as indirect talks between Israel and Hamas, focused on the US peace plan to end the war in Gaza, have begun. These negotiations started this afternoon at the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, an Egyptian official has confirmed.

The Israeli negotiating team is led by Ron Dermer, while Khalil al Hayyah is leading the Hamas delegation. Hamas has indicated that its negotiations will focus on the first stage of a ceasefire, which includes the partial withdrawal of Israeli forces and the release of hostages it is holding in Gaza, in exchange for Palestinian prisoners currently in Israeli detention.
