Far-right march in London erupts into violence over Immigration

Sunday, September 14, 2025 -Tens of thousands of protesters led by far-right activist Tommy Robinson filled central London under the banner “Unite the Kingdom.”

Branded as a free-speech march, the event quickly turned into a demonstration against immigration policy and Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s government. At the same time, thousands joined a counter-protest organized by anti-racism groups, setting the stage for confrontation.

What began as a massive show of force spiraled into violence. Sections of the crowd clashed with police, throwing bottles, flares, and other projectiles after attempting to push beyond designated protest zones.

Officers reported being punched and kicked, with more than two dozen injured, several seriously. Authorities confirmed at least 25 arrests, warning that while many attended peacefully, a core group arrived intent on disorder.

The unrest highlights how deeply immigration has fractured the political landscape. For the government, the challenge now lies in protecting free expression while preventing extremist groups from fueling chaos on the streets.

Calls for stronger policing of such demonstrations are growing, while community tensions between nationalist movements and immigrant populations risk hardening further in the aftermath.
