Evergreen High School shooter dead from self-inflicted gunshot wound

Thursday, September 11, 2025 -A tragic day unfolded at Evergreen High School after a gunman opened fire on campus, leaving students and staff in shock and scrambling for safety. Authorities confirmed that the shooter, whose identity has not yet been released, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound following the attack.

Law enforcement officers responded quickly to the scene, securing the school and evacuating students to nearby safe zones as frantic parents rushed to reunite with their children.

The shooting has sparked outrage and heartbreak in the Evergreen community, with parents, educators, and local leaders calling for answers. Witnesses described scenes of chaos as alarms rang out and students sheltered in classrooms.

Mental health support teams have been deployed to help those affected, and vigils are already being planned to honor the victims and support survivors. The incident adds to a growing list of school shootings that have reignited the national debate over gun violence in America.

Officials are now working to piece together the shooter’s motives and whether there were warning signs before the attack. Former President Biden and several lawmakers issued statements of condolence while renewing calls for stronger action to protect students in schools.

As the investigation unfolds, Evergreen High will remain closed, with the community left to grapple with grief and pressing questions about how to prevent such tragedies in the future.
