The preserve has suspended all tours and encounters as staff mourn Easley, who was remembered as a passionate conservationist dedicated to big cats. Colleagues described him as someone who treated the animals with respect and deep care.
Growler Pines is a private wildlife facility that offers tours and demonstrations about tiger care and training. Officials have not released further details about how the accident happened.
