Friday, August 29, 2025 - Hulk Hogan’s widow, Sky Daily, is reportedly planning to file a medical malpractice lawsuit against at least one of the WWE legend’s doctors and others she believes are responsible for his death, sources told TMZ Sports.
The legal action would focus on a neck surgery Hogan
underwent in May, which Daily claims compromised his phrenic nerve, a critical
nerve that controls breathing. Sources indicate this complication played a
significant role in Hogan’s death at his Clearwater Beach, Florida home on July
24. According to 911 audio obtained by TMZ, Daily told authorities during the
emergency call, “My husband’s not breathing. He just stopped breathing.”
Sources familiar with the matter told TMZ that Hogan, 71,
did not suffer a sudden heart attack as initially reported but instead stopped
breathing unexpectedly. An occupational therapist present at Hogan’s home on
the day of his death reportedly alerted police to the alleged phrenic nerve
damage.
Daily has also commissioned a private autopsy as part of her
investigation into potential medical malpractice. While the findings have not
been released, her plans to sue strongly suggest the results supported her
concerns.
The Daily Mail reported on Thursday that Sky Daily was
considering legal action. Meanwhile, a medical examiner’s cremation approval
summary cited a heart attack as the cause of death, though the Clearwater
Police Department continues to investigate.
Daily’s move signals a growing legal and medical dispute
surrounding the circumstances of the wrestling legend’s death.
