Friday, August 29, 2025 - A 39-year-old gold dealer has allegedly 'hammered' his fiancée to near d3ath over cheating allegations at Kasoa, Ghana.
The victim, Barikisu Abdullah, is said to have woken up at
the hospital after losing consciousness during the attack.
According to Barikisu, her fiancée, Osman Mumuni whom she
had met a year ago, lived in Bolgatanga while she lived at Kasoa in a house
rented for her by Osman.
Speaking to Crime Check Tv Gh, she said that a week after
the Eid-Fitr celebration, while she was asleep during one night, her fiancé
sneaked into her room and assaulted her using a hammer.
She said she became unconscious, suffered memory loss, only
to wake up in a hospital bed after she gained consciousness.
She said when she went back home, she found her fiancé's
slippers, blood stains in her room and the hammer he used to commit the
act.
Days later, she said her fiancé called her through her
parent's phone to apologize, admitting he committed the act.
Pictures Barikisu sent to Crime Check Tv Gh shows Barikisu
has suffered fractured skull and broken teeth.
When we contacted Osman, he admitted to committing the act
but said he assaulted her with his hands during a confrontation between them
and not with a hammer.
He denied sneaking into her room.
Osman accused Barikisu of betrayal even after all he had
done for her.
Osman said he rented a room for Barikisu which cost Gh¢6,000
for a year, bought a phone for her, gave her Gh¢500 every week and almost
Gh¢100 everyday for upkeep.
He said he also gave her business capital but after all the
responsibilities only for her to cheat on him.
He claimed that anytime he called Barikisu to talk to her on
the phone, she was always making calls late at night.
Despite expressing unhappiness about the situation, Barikisu
became disobedient.
Osman also alleged that anytime he visited Barikisu, she did
not regard him and she even rained insults on him.
He claims Barikisu refuses to make love with him,
heightening his suspicion of cheating against her.
Osman, who appeared remorseful, however promised to foot the
medical bills for Barikisu's treatment and pledged to meet her family over the
issue.
Barikisu refuted the cheating claims explaining that she
received calls from customers since she was a business woman.
She also said she did not make love with Osman because he
had not married her yet.
She accused Osman of ridiculing her family as he always
postponed meeting with them to settle the matter.
