Thursday, February 24, 2022 – Deputy President William Ruto’s ally and Kericho Senator, Aaron Cheruiyot, has blasted President Uhuru Kenyatta for forcing Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka to support ODM Leader Raila Odinga’s presidential bid.
Speaking during an interview, Cheruiyot urged the Head of State to give the One Kenya Alliance co-principal a humble time to make up his mind.
“Why is Uhuru, who is the main campaign machine in this particular election cycle, forcing Kalonzo Musyoka into submission?
“Can you give the good gentleman time to make up his mind instead of forcing him to support Raila, your project?” Cheruiyot said.
At the same time, Cheruiyot accused Uhuru and Raila of using Ukambani governors Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni), Alfred Mutua (Machakos), and Charity Ngilu (Kitui) to blackmail Kalonzo.
According to the Kericho Senator, Uhuru is secretly funding political rallies by the three governors to demean Kalonzo Musyoka that he does not have the political power he had in the previous elections.
“Why are these governors blackmailing Kalonzo Musyoka? When you see the movement of these three governors it is meant to sort of threaten Kalonzo Musyoka.”
“Stop using these governors to try and send fillers and say you know we have the ability.
“Even when you see the kind of rallies they are mobilizing you can see that these are state resources planned by the government of Kenya to try and beat Kalonzo into submission,” he said.
His sentiments come barely a day after the Wiper leader warned Azimio La Umoja sympathizers to stop forcing him to join Raila ahead of August polls.
