Thursday, February 24, 2022 – President Uhuru Kenyatta has blasted Deputy President William Ruto for sending spies to his Sagana III meeting held at Sagana State Lodge yesterday.
Addressing the boisterous crowd that turned up for the politically charged meeting, the energetic Uhuru took the bull by the horns, saying he won’t be intimidated by Ruto or his spies in Tanga Tanga ahead of the August polls.
The Head of State said this while spilling beans on why he fell out with his deputy.
“I know they have even sent people here to listen to our conversation, but I don’t fear them, we will not mince our words,” thundered Uhuru.
During the highly anticipated meeting, Uhuru cautioned Mt Kenya residents against falling into lies being peddled by DP Ruto in search of votes.
He warned Kenyans not to elect Ruto as the fifth president, he was just after his own selfish interests and didn’t care about their welfare.
“When some people speak and tell you many things, a lot of lies, some even lying to you how much they love you, I want to show you what we have been doing.
“When they lie to you about what has been done or hasn’t been done, show them the projects we’ve been up to,” he said.
The Jubilee party leader hinted at one of the reasons that led to the fallout with Ruto. The president said he was opposed to Ruto’s early campaigns immediately after their re-election in 2017.
According to Uhuru, he asked Ruto to stop early campaigns and focus on the delivery of the government agenda but he refused and instead went on the campaign trail.
“I told William Ruto that the time for campaigns would come but there was a time for everything and that time was time to work because work changes livelihoods,” he said.
