Saturday, February 19, 2022 – An opinion poll conducted by Mizani Africa has revealed the number of votes Deputy President William Ruto will get in Machakos, Meru and Tharaka Nithi Counties.
The poll, released on Friday, showed that if elections were held today in Meru County, Ruto would garner 54.5 percent followed closely by Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) party leader, Raila Odinga with 38.2% while Wiper Democratic Movement party leader Kalonzo Musyoka was ranked third with 4 percent. Other candidates combined got 2.6 percent.
In Machakos County, perceived as Kalonzo’s stronghold, the poll suggested Ruto would carry the day with 35.6 percent of the votes. Raila would come to close second with 33.2 percent while Kalonzo would garner 20.7 percent. Other candidates would share 10.5 percent of the votes.
In Tharaka Nithi County, the survey showed Ruto would win by a landslide with 72.6 percent followed by Raila 18.5 percent and Kalonzo 5.2 percent.
